In anticipation of the release of book 3 of @brighamvaughn The Midwest Series, Touch & Go, I was provided with a copy of each of these sweet sports romances. Everyone knows hockey books are my JAM. I was more than a little eager to get a chance to read and share.
In Bully & Exit we meet Caleb, a closed off theatre student and Nathan, the hockey player that wrecked him in high school. Tortured by how he left Caleb four years ago, all Nathan wants to do is tell Caleb how sorry he is before they leave university and never see one another again. Determined not to ever think of Nathan again, all Caleb wants is Nathan to stay away. He isn’t interested in any apologies his secret ex-boyfriend may want to share but Nathan is willing to go to any lengths necessary and Caleb may not be able to hold out forever.
In Push & Pull we reconnect with pretty rich kid Lowell, and hockey player Brent, friends of Caleb and Nathan. After his best friend ditches Brent on departure day of their summer adventure, Lowell steps up to accompany Brent. He doesn’t know Brent well, aside from a few thousand fantasies stemming back to a shared class at the beginning of university, but he’s got nothing better to do with his summer. So begins an epic road trip around Lake Michigan for the guys and as the days pass feelings bloom, but Lowell’s been badly hurt before and is determined to avoid a relationship. The men grow closer but a phone call from a shared ex rips the budding couple apart. Will Lowell be able to forgive Brent rushing to the aid of the man that broke his heart?
I really loved book these books, and am excited for the next.
