One perfect weekend. Two inconvenient truths. Falling in love was the easy part.
Sébastien Saint-Jacques no longer trusts his own judgment. An ethics investigation has made his compassion for combat veterans look dangerously like a pattern. Then a beautiful stranger gives him one reckless weekend to forget who everyone thinks he is.
Levi Knight was good at being needed. Now he’s out of the Army, nobody requires anything of him, and he has no idea who that makes him. Then he meets a man who has made a life out of needing no one.
When Bastien learns Levi is a combat veteran—repeating his pattern—his weekend doesn’t seem so perfect.
Nine days after Bastien broke his heart, Levi walks into Fairhaven University.
He doesn’t expect to see the man there to teach his psych class.
What happens when a man who survives by walking away falls for one who makes himself impossible to leave?
Hushed is the second novel in the Fairhaven MM romance series. For readers who love age gaps, second chances, complicated power dynamics, wounded men, sharp humor, and romances where nobody gets an easy answer.
about the author:
Sam Drake grew up a Yankee in the South — born in New England, deposited in North Carolina, never entirely absorbed. He has moved since, many times. He tends to lose things, mostly his mind.
He finished his first novel in Estonia on March 13, 2001. It was absolutely terrible. He got better. He thinks.
